Amendment XIX

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

My Opinion: This was a ground breaking moment in America. First only white men were able to vote, then all men regardless of their race, and now NO ONE could be discriminated against the right to vote due to their gender. As a woman, I cannot imagine the fear and frustration these people went through on a daily basis to over come this restriction of freedom.

19th Amendment

My Opinion: This video gave me goosebumps on how much I didn't know about the struggles women went through for me to have the freedoms I have today. Seeing all these women protesting and standing up for what they believe in is inspirational in the way that they never gave up. It's amazing to think how far women have come and this video did a perfect job of pointing it out.

Women's Equal Rights and the 19th Amendment

My Opinion: This video was a good representation of what is important to a woman and how a woman should think about these issues. Women are capable of just as much as a man is so why should they be treated any different. This can be related to the right of voting. Women should have a say in who runs the country they live in just as much as their husband.
